Feeling stuck? Not sure where your next idea will come from?
This three-day course is for artists and women working in creative fields who want to generate new ideas, overcome creative blocks and develop their own creative practice.
Through practical exercises in freewriting, doodling, active observation, working with references, moodboards, personal experiences and chance, you will explore different ways of finding and developing ideas. We will also look at how inspiration from other artists can be transformed into something of your own, and how an idea can become a starting point for an artistic project or creative offer within your self-employment.
What will you learn?
- Practical techniques for generating visual and conceptual ideas
- Ways to use your own experiences and observations as creative material
- How to work with references and other artists’ ideas without simply copying
- How to turn a raw idea into a first concept and explore its possible forms
- How to build your own personal toolkit for overcoming creative blocks
- How to develop creative ideas into concrete projects or offers as part of your self-employment
- How to connect your artistic practice with the realities of building a sustainable independent career
What do you need?
- Please bring paper, a pen and a thick black marker.
- All additional handouts and course materials will be provided.
What will you take away?
